Since the expiration of the First time homebuyer tax credit June 30th 2010 Interest rates have dropped to historic lows of nearly 4.5% on a 30 year fixed mortgage and as low as 3.75% for a 15 yr conventional mortgage. Now that's incentive!!!! I challenge you to ask your parents what they paid for an interest rate when they got their mortgage in the late 80's or even early 90's and you'll soon find that these interest rates offer a loan for next to nothing. In fact I had a gentleman tell me the other day that he has money in a savings account paying him more than what today's interest rates are.
